Post by msn1270 »

Bangalore: The BDA on Thursday informed the high court that an estimated Rs 965.06 crore is needed to provide all basic amenities at seven layouts which are still pending completion. In a statement, the BDA said the amenities will be provided between June 2013 and March 2014.

Justice S Abdul Nazeer, who is hearing a batch of petitions filed by farmers challenging acquisition of land for Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda layout, told BDA commissioner T Sham Bhat to streamline the organization and remove unwanted elements. “Where is the money with BDA? Once it was called a honey pot. Now, there is no honey, no pot either,” the judge remarked.

By March 2013, the BDA claimed that 80% basic amenities will be provided in Anjanapura Township, Anjanapura Extension, Banashankari VI Phase extension, Sir M Visvesvaraya Layout and Sir M Visvesvaraya Extension Layout and 85% amenities in Banashankari VI Phase.
