Is there any need to get a BBMP approval for alteration / renovation of a old house ?
The renovated building will have almost the same area as the old building (which means there is no impact on the property tax paid), but there could be some structural changes in terms of rooms changing location from one part to the other.
Can anybody share their experiences or point to relevant material which contains details regarding this ?

Hi Madhu
Legally you are supposed to apply for any structural modifications, since the floor area remains same there is no need to pay anything extra for sanction other than road usage, garbage taxes.Bbmp is not very keen on what you are doing inside a building.
