Residence or Office

Hi,

We are building a house in Bangalore on a 60x40 site. The house has been planned such that our residence is on the 1st and 2nd floor. The ground floor is meant for stilt car park and there is around 1000sft of available space that we can additionally build. My question is related to this space on the ground floor.

We are planning to rent out the ground floor and are wondering if it would be better to build the ground floor as an office space or a 2BHK residence.

An office may fetch higher rental, but I am not sure what associated issues come with it. Also, we have the plans sanctioned for a residence in the ground floor, so, I am not sure if this will be an issue, although some of our neighbors have rented portions of their residences to offices.

Do any members have suggestions or can you share your experiences?
