There are several lakhs of owners waiting for the same opportunity to legalise their sites/building.
But BBMP is not accepting any betterment charges to regularise the non-approved/violated layout/plots.

A PIL case is going on in High court, and the Court turned down the betterment tariff chart propsed by BBMP.
Even though HC has given instruction to BBMP to issue A Khatas without waiting for Betterment charges,
(can be collected later also), so far BBMP has not started the process.

Also the Akrama-Sakrama scheme proposed by the earlier Governemt to collect one time penalty to regularise
the properties is in cold storage as the Governor has neither accepted nor rejected it.

So there is no question of paying now or later arises at this moment.

Dear msn1270,
a.)As the model code of conduct for 2014 Indian Federal Elections and results are out - Any idea if gazzeted notification for betterment charges by BBMP will be issued in the near future (provided if honourable Karnataka High Court provide nod as well) ? (Also since BBMP is in dire straits in vis-a-vis to its bankruptcy)
b.)Was it not a contempt of court inspite of honourable Karnataka High Court issuing directions to BBMP to issue Khata A without betterment charges ?

Even few newspapers are claiming the BBMP is going to announce the regularization scheme this week.
If there is any such move, we can expect the official news from the BBMP in this week or next week.

Thanks Galore msn1270 !!! I been DESPERATE for very long time to get hold of Khata A for my site since no mainstream bank is willing to give me house construction loan based on my Khata B. NBFC are willing to give, but the interest rate and commission are humongously flabbergasting and too expensive.

Keeping my fingers crossed for this week and for next week.... (Or will our CM deny this due to Congress party's pathetic performance in Bangalore constituencies in the recently culminated poll). Hey BBMP - Please help people like me !!!

Times of India published an article which says govt decided to collect betterment charges(A-khatha) at 350 per sqmt upto 1000sqmt(1 sq mt = 10.8 sq.ft).
For 30x40 it will be around 390000/- and 60x40 it is 78000/- .

Thanks

Yep Prabhakar - My brother called me to let know on the appearance of this article in today’s The Times Of India Bangalore edition ( http://content.magicbricks.com/industry ... 68678.html ) , after i wrote the earlier post. Makes indeed very gorgeous and heartfelt reading.

However the rates published in this article is quite perplexing because the last time when this news was in the print it was said that – “ The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Council on 29.Jan.14 reduced betterment charges from Rs 250 to Rs 200 per sq mtr in 100 core wards of the City and from Rs 350 to Rs 250 per sq mtr in the remaining 98 wards, irrespective of the dimension of the plot. The decision was taken on corporators’ request.” AND “BBMP Commissioner M Lakshminarayana said that an affidavit would be submitted to the court within a week about the revised rates.” No idea how this got changed !!!!
Does not matter now – Am willing to pay any length and breadth to get this powerful and commanding piece of document called Khata A.

[ Prabhakar : On a lighter note, we will have to pay precisely 39019.26 Rupees as betterment charges for 30 x 40 site dimension to get this Khata A :-) :-) :-) ]

The betterment charges aired in yesterday's The Times Of India and today's Deccan Herald are quite contradictory now.
a.)According to yesterday's TTOI , for a 30X40 site dimension : Betterment Charge to be paid is Rs 39019.26
b.)According to today's DH, for a 30X40 site dimension : Betterment Charge to be paid for old ward is Rs 22296.72 , And for new ward is Rs 27870.90

Quite Grainy details - Will have to wait till the gazetted notification is aired by our BBMP
