I think veneer polishing may not cost over rs 100/sft. so, if we can get the laminated pine wood readymade door around 185 rs per sqft then its worth gonig rather than making our own door.

Hi,

Flush door ==> two varities 60 to 85 per sf local compressed woor flush doors and good tublar core or flush door from century or kitply company will be Rs 125 to 150 per sq ft.
Veener sheet ==> Range from Rs 500 per sheet (32 ft) to Rs 5000 per sheet is available
Polishing ==> Good Melamine polish is Rs 125 per sq and PU polish is Rs 500 per sq (250 material + 250 for labour)

you can prepare a flush door around Rs 2000/= to Rs 30,000/= depanding upon your budget.

I am not sure who is quoting Rs.125 per Sq.ft or even 250 per sq.ft!
I talked to my painter who quotes between Rs.60 to Rs.80 for Melamine and PU polish per Sq.ft. (Labour only).

then total cost would be 85(compressed door) + 1200/32 = 38 rs venner sheet (as i prefer to choose one in 1200 range) + 80 (polishing) = total would be 203 Rs which works to be cheaper

if i go for kitply then it would be 250 Rs approximately which sounds good. even we can go for venner above 1200 as well ,for eg at 2000 Rs one 1000 Rs on each side 2000/32 = 63 Rs per square feet which will give total cost of 280 Rs total cost with total cost of 3*7 * 280 = 5880 to 6600 Rs . Depends on which venner sheet we choose cost can go up.

Dear Members
I did a quick check during the last week with Flush Door with leading companies like Greenply, Archidply, Centuryply and Kitply for a 30MM including VAT. Here is the rate that was quoted to me per sft:

GREENPLY - 145
ARCHIDPLY - 149
CENTURYPLY - 125
KITPLY - 102

Incase if I have to go for any of the above companies FLUSH DOOR which is a good value for company. Everybody seems to claim they are Boiling Water Proof and the best in their class. Any tip here would be appreciated.

I heard about Membrane Door and I have no idea about it. Any idea if we can get good quality here and what is the cost around. Who are the players here.

Regards
Rakesh

rkjain,

i just want to understand, this flush doors are tubular core doors are compressed particle door ?
Compressed particle door will be heavy and its not recommended for internal doors because you have to put lots of effort to open the door and close the door.
Next question is compressed particle are from same kind of wood or a combination of all all kinds of wood ?

Sorry to ask too many question.

Next thing don't go for Membrane door, its nothing but the compressed doors have a rexin sheet cover for it and if any sharp object hit there will be a hole. For door dont go for Membrane for Kitchen cabinates you can think of it and there are many local players and there is no brand players here.

Dear All,
The Construction of my house will soon enter the stage of Walls :P . Based on the experience of people here, can you please post some comments and suggestions on the Flush doors that you have installed in the recent past? It would be of tremendous help to me and all others here.
Also, has anyone heard of or installed Suraksha Composite Doors as a substitute for Flush/ UPVC/ Wooden doors? feedback please? Suraksha doors look very promising. atleast on paper as of now.
