Should I buy a flat or construct a small house on my plot?

I own a 30x40 BDA plot and also I wish to buy a 2 or 3 BHK flat on the outskirts of bangalore at any good locality for reasonable price. As my plot is kept for long term investment, is it advisable to buy a flat instead of contructing a small room to protect land?

It all depends on what you want in life.
1. Comfort and luxury in living - Build a house.
2. Revenue generation - Buy a flat and build a rented house in the plot.
Some people like the apartment living concept of society and interaction with people. Some like their privacy. apartment rates depreciate after some number of years where as land rates dont.
If you have a plot in a good locality then consider yourself lucky and try not to sell it. Safety of land from land mafia is again something you have to take a call on if you think you are at risk.
