Hi All,
I am building a a house with ground floor and 1st floor. My engineer is keen on using ready mix concrete for RCC. He is of the opinion that it would save money as there wont be wastage of sand & cement that happens during manual mixing. I am not sure how it could be possible! I have also heard that ready mix guys use stone dust instead of river sand. So how can the use of ready mix be safe since no river sand is used and economical compared to the conventional concrete? If ready mix is safe, then which company's ready mix should i opt for? Thanks.

You are right....RMC guys do not use the right sand these days now & there is no way where you can ascertain that the quantity/ proportion is indeed. The tradional methods of "gangmen" doing the job still rocks !!
