Can somebody post the rates of Sand ( in squareft ) and Honne/Saal prices (per cubic ft)? Am confused with the comments from m3_07 as some other contractors also gave me similar price rating. Hence not sure why m3_07 thinks that its an impossible price . Am concerned about the quality, if the price quoted is too less as m3_07 mentioned.

Friends...I am currently buying...hence I know the market rates. I have given a labour contract & am supplying the materials of the quality to my satisfaction.
1. Wood - There is no LOCAL WOOD. Every piece of log is imported. WIth the dollar at 52.xx, the prices have gone up by 50 to 100/ CFT. Australian honne, best price was 1600, now at 1675. But...I managed to get it at 1575. Since my qty was approx 200 CFT, i wen in for LOG, which was 1450/ CFT. Log prices & cut piece prices are different.
2. Birla super - best price was 308 @ 50 bags. Now it is 320 @ 50 bags.
3. Sand - I am getting it from Trichy - 25K
4. Saal, is indeed expensive than Honne at 1750/ CFT. The 1000/ CFT Saal you are quoting is called HARDWOOD !! It is because of this reason I used Honne for Shutter + Frame.
5. Indus TMT prices - 47/ KG. It is going up by 1500/ Ton next week.

Honne is poor man's Teak...no offence meant, as there is no better alternative yet. Africal Teak is useless @ 2200 - 2600/ CFT.
You could call Kishore at 9916128054. My name is Murthy @ Yelahanka !!
