Hi all,
There is a small tree in front of my house. As its on the way to entrance, I need to remove that. And my house is not on main road, its within the inner road of layout. So Shall I go ahead to remove the tree? or what is the procedure to get sanction from BBMP for removing the tree?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Iyyappan
procedures to remove the small tree in front of house
Re: procedures to remove the small tree in front of house
1. If you the house is still under construction, you may have to explore alternatives to have a separate gate to the house, lawfully speaking.
2. The horticulture wing of the BBMP/ BDA/ the forest dept provide clearances to cut down trees.
3. Getting clearances is quite a fun...you might give it a shot. If you succeed, good for you, however, there could be the so called neighbours, who might have objections to it.
4. If there are no neighbours & a empty peice of land all around, you might consider cutting it yourselves & plant 2 or more in front of the house as a replacement option (strictly my views, so I am not expecting any critical feedbacks)
5. Speak to the friendly BBMP guy for your area - at the lowest level. He will be more than happy to do the honours at a reasonable cost, with all the tools at his disposal.

Hi iyyapan,
If it is a small tree and possible transplant with main roots intact( give a try at least ) ,but take a pledge that you plant 4 and take care till they grow as soon as you cut the old one.
As long as we compensate the loss i don't see any harm.Dealing with lower level bbmp fellow will help you out to avoid any kind of issues from bbmp.
Legally you need to approach urban forest dept working under bbmp and get a clearance. They analyze and give you go ahead, need to pay some money for rehabilitation/ compensation.
