Hello,
I have recently bought a semi commercial property near JP nagar 1st phase, its in the border of bairasandra and JP nagar.
The property has 3 shops in ground floor, a 2bhk and in first floor a 3 bhk.
We have rented the shop to a small chat wala.
But the local rowdies are making lot of problems. They are threatening the shop owner to give money or roll call otherwise they will not let him do his business. The rowdies stand near the house and just create problems. Even the persons living in 1st floor are not comfortable due to this and they want to leave the property.
We are really worried about this problem.
If we go to police we are afraid that they might do some harm to my in-laws living near by.
Please suggest a solution for this problem.

thanks

I think you need to tell the shop keeper to tell the goans that he will not pay any money and they can do anything. This thing will register in their mind and they can't do much after that. It is only an act of threatening and nothing else. If you are scared the goans will scare you more. Also register a complaint to the police station and they will call both parties and settle the issue but your complaint will remain in case of any eventuality.

If the problem exist you can contact contact the commisionner directly in infantry road and register a complaint and ask for police protection or police rounds in the aread every now and then and the goans will be screwed.

You can take down a police inspector no or the hoysala no in case of any emergency.

"ಮಂತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾವಿನಕಾಯಿ ಉದುರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ." Just comes out your excuses for not taking legal route.
B'cos of these weaknesses only some people exploits you.

Complaint to the nearest police station. If no action from them within a week, meet the city commissioner directly.
You can approach Human Rights commission if the police Dept fails to act on your complaint. Nowadays all newspaper
and electronic media's are there to support such issues to any common man.

If you don't want do anything and simply wants to have peace of mind, just sell off that property silently, relocate to
somewhere else and live peacefully.

I would suggest you meet some local leader who will then inform the police. I know it's sometime difficult situation.

If you have noticed the police also take money from the chatwalla. Ask chatwalla how much he pays every day to police. Once he confirms, u wait for the time the police arrive and explain your situation.

Another approach is: Face the goons and talk to them. Only one trick is to be very very persistent with your words without raising the voice. Don't try to say u will contact police blah blah blah. Just try to say that is not fair on them to stand near your house/shop and cause problems.

In these kind of situations, whether a local leader or a police mediator looks for his pie and once they come to know, you are a milking cow,
they try to milk you as much as possible, no end for such things. None of these people honestly wants to close it once for all, as they don't
come into picture, unless they see their benefit.

Take a judicious call, either you take a firm stand against it or keep compromising life long.
