Dear Sir;
As Breach of trust (to save money at owner's cost), our contractor used ACC cement PPC grade for foundation and footing against my construction agreement of OPC53 grade birla super. What should i do?
a) Is the footing with ACC PPC grade cement OK?
b) If not what should i tell him to follow.
c) Is footing structurally OK.
d) what is price difference between two grades (PPC & OPC53)
Need urgent opinion from expert.

hi sahu.mgse,
one can use PPC, but it takes more setting time than OPC, we advise only OPC (43 & 53) for entire building from our experience in bangalore.
Structurally its ok, rate difference will be Rs10 to Rs 15 per bag.

sahu.mgse,
Don't get panic, Its fine to Use ACC PPC. Only thing is setting time will be long may be some where around 56 days i belive. Next thing is if soil is used to close the basement column, it will add cooling effect and at the end of 56 days your column strenght will be much higher that OPC 53 grades. Make sure to water the column structures.

Both are good. Both will have long setting time and water curing is a important thing that need to be properly done.
PPC will have little cooling effect in a long run than OPC other than this every thing is same.
If costwise if you get advantage then opt for PPC.
