Please note that for granite you need to pay 3 rs/sq ft for loading and unloading into the vehicle ontop of the granite cost plus need to pay tax as they get it from other states plus u need to pay high transportation costplus you need to use electricity for laying graniteplus granite is cumbersome has different laying cost for flooring , skirting , half and full rounding , 40 mm for edges, walls etc which is charged in running feet.

The cost of buying , laying and finishing will give a heart attach when you see the bill for granite but for vitrified tiles you can manage good tiles (khajaria has good options for 50 to 55 rs/sq ft) , no tax charged in many places , free transport from many vendors , no hidden cost for laying , less material consumption like cement , sand etc , no electricity.

Decision is personal.

No Seconds thoughts for me, Only granite with dark colors which is less water absorbent.

1) If you are planing to rent or not to change flooring after 10+ years clearly go with granite, one time investment and VFM

2) Better looks Just go for good vitrified tiles with good brands.

Granite will cost more, wastage is also more and more time consuming for cutting and laying. I have used vitrified in native and granite in Bangalore house and i am more satisfied with granite now!!
As many suggested go and check many places where granite is laid and also some apartments which are using vitrified ties after 10 years.

If you are building your own house with your hard-earned money don't listen to any contractors if they say vitrified(they think of quickly completing the house with ease of work). This is my personal experience, So Check your actual requirement and take a wise decision.

Hi,

Granites are naturally occurred stone and specially Indian granites are durable and attractive. Indian granites are having great demand in the international market than in India. Vitrified tiles are definitely not natural, hence if you are building your own house and care about your family, I would suggest you to go for natural stones as it does not contain harmful chemicals other than not very harmful polish, unlike tiles! Getting quality granite without help might be difficult but not in Bangalore which is called granite city of India. You can contact me if you need help in buying quality granites directly for factory prices, I would be happy to help. I have bought and transported granites for myself and my cousin and did a good research.

Granite cannot be polished like marble. The shine in granite can fade away over time and cause fungus growth.

Marble can be polished anytime at your doorstep, it is expensive and has higher laying costs, .Marble also has tendency to absorb stains.
Vitrified is strong, less weight, durable and comes in different shades. Starts from sizes 1x1 and goes till 4X8. Perfect cut at right angles, less wastage .

If your inclination is towards good colors, i think you should look at Double charged vitrified tiles. Do a check on the cost diff. b/w them and good granite. If i were you i would still hunt for the right color granite for few more days . What is your budget , have you checked out italian marble, product and laying cost are high but they look elegant.
Kumar, any idea about the marble pricing? How different is it from granite pricewise, laying cost and everything? Also is there anything else to be considered while buying marble?

Marble is if of many types, Indian , Italian etc. It can be polished at any point of time to get shine . Italian marble is expensive, but worth investing. Stains can be removed by polishing . Maintenance is high for Italian marble, but it gives you the required shine.

Choose between marble and vitrified for indoor flooring. Granite can go well for stairs , common areas. Some granite have metal content, which may rust.

Vitrified tiles are broken easily if some heavy object falls, granite doesn't break so easy,

Granite is a good 1 time investment. Tiles are more like you need lot of maintenance specially if u rent
