Thanks MSN1270 for your inputs. Last week's Taranga weekly magazine (Kannada) had an exclusive article about eco friendly cost effective construction. I want to reduce the cost of construction as much as possible at the same time not compromising on the strength of the building. Doing homework right now and please share any of your experiences. If you come across someone who has built cost effective eco friendly homes (and don't minding contacting them), please give their reference to me. That will help me a lot.

Also there is an exclusive Department in IISC Bangalore by name CST - Centre for Sustainable Technologies(formerly ASTRA) which is working on cost effective alternative building materials and construction methods. has anyone explored their details ? I'm not sure whether they directly work for general public. Below given is its link
