Vacuum lifts/Elevators for Residential House
Re: Vacuum lifts/Elevators for Residential House
Interesting.. would this also required BBMP/BESCOM approval (and associated bribes) ?
Re: Vacuum lifts/Elevators for Residential House
Prices looks very expensive. There are good start ups/entrepreneurs who can provide you customized Micro Lifts for your personal needs. Prices starts from as low as Rs. 2 lakhs onwards for an entry level Lift. Based on the Aesthetics and safety measures, prices increases.
Also you can look for upscaled Capsule Lifts sold by Gujarat based business units, which are recovered from the dismantled commercial Ships.

Re: Vacuum lifts/Elevators for Residential House
thank you.. do micro lifts need BBMP/BESCOM permission ?
Re: Vacuum lifts/Elevators for Residential House
BBMP Doesn't have any issue in using Lifts in residential homes. Only in case of high rise buildings & Commercial buildings above certain heights, Fire & Safety Dept permission is very much necessary.
Re: Vacuum lifts/Elevators for Residential House
You do not need Lift permission from BBMP, but it's always good to mention while plan approval/sanction if it's new construction.
You would need approval from KSEI (refer to the below links). Usually, these approvals are obtained by the Lift Installers and they would be quoting those expenses in your quotation.

Lift basically are in 3 categories
1. MR (Machine Room)
2. MRL (Machine Room Less)
3. Hydraulic
For Residential purposes, one can go with MRL and Hydraulic. The challenges with these are they need headroom and pit as well. The minimum dimension that I have seen is 4' 6" x 4' 6" clear space (excluding the shaft structure). Also do note the cost of the shaft preparation (Civil works / Metal Glass Structure). One needs to keep in mind of storage of hydraulic oil in hydraulic lifts.
