budget flooring choice

[kraghum]

we are building a farmhouse using interlicking mudblocks, looking for budget flooring of local material
1. Vitrified is ruled out
2. Considered KOTA,- need references on some one who used and cost of stone
3. betham cherla/tandur also considered but, but most of relatives have same so looking for some other alternative

is there s place or dealer who sell left of odd pieces of granite or marble at reasonable price that i could buy

Any specific reason to rule out vitrified tiles ?

Kota and Tandur stone are nearly same both are greenish blue limestone.
The cost of stone may be less but needs polishing which costs money
So in terms of stone cutting + laying + grinding/polish it may cost same or even more than vitrified tiles.

the reason being wnated it to be use more natual materials rather vitirified, since walls or not going to be plastered (exposed brick walls), also wanted this to be a lowcost flooring

Hi,
You can explore for redoxide flooring , athangudi tiles, clay tiles - eurocotto, brick flooring.
1. Redoxide - Gives you seamless look but cracks are part of design

2. Athangudi - Looks very traditional and natural, needs grinding and proper laying

3. Clay tiles - Not smooth but hard and very earthy look. Factory made with good consistency in color

4. Brick floor - Need to use hard fire bricks for long life, too many joints and give very industrial distressed look.

Thanks Praveen, Red oxide i heard there is shortage of experts also very time consuming, would love if you can refer someone,? will definitely check on red tiles

Apart from good suggestions by Ar. Pravin you can look at stained polished concrete.

You can consider stained polished concrete as well

you could try this IPS(Indian patented concrete flooring) flooring with residential epoxy coating & combine with very minimal Marble/Granite inlay works.It definitely matches well with your interlocking mud blocks walls
