Windows - Wooden Vs UPVC

Post by sano »

Which is good in terms of quality - Wooden windows or UPVC windows?
My observation is that In terms of quality wood will be best compared to UPVC, provided you use good wood like honne, acasia, or second grade teak. I'm not sure about red sal though.

Cost?

I think if you use UPVC (good quality) it will come around 650/sqft. There are also cheaper upvc versions from Rs.450/-. I'm not sure how to distinguish between good and bad UPVCs. Cheap versions mostly do not have color options (only ivory) where as I want pure white.

Someone has mentioned that wooden windows (honne) will come upto Rs.650/- sqft including all fittings. When I worked out the price, it is coming to the same figure.

Is there any advantage of wood over upvc or the other way?

Has anyone experienced LG (electronics) brand UPVC windows? They are asking Rs.650/sqft for sliding models?
