Hi guys,

Need your help in shortlisting Borewell pump:-

Following are the quotations i have received for 700 ft installation, please advise is it reasonable?

1.3 HP , 40 Stage, 3 Phase Texmo Taro - Rs. 25000/-
2. 11/4 12.5 kg pipe -Rs.110 * 215 mts = Rs. 23650/-
3. 2.5 sq mm Havells Wire, Rs.68 * 230 mts=Rs. 15640/-
4. 3 HP panel board- Rs.4500/-
5. SS fitting- Rs.900/-
6. Bore Cap and Clamps- Rs.800/-
7. N.R.V G.I. Fittings-Rs. 900/-
8. Labour and Transportation charges- 1800 +500= Rs. 2300/-
Total= Rs.73,690/-

1.3 HP , 40 Stage, 1 Phase Texmo Taro - Rs. 27000/-
2. 11/4 12.5 kg pipe -Rs.105* 213 mts = Rs. 22365/-
3. 4 sq mm Havells Wire, Rs.90 * 219 mts=Rs. 19710/-
4. 2 HP panel board- Rs.2500/-
5. SS fitting- Rs.800/-
6. Bore Cap and Clamps,N.R.V G.I. Fittings- Rs.1100/-
7. Labour and Transportation charges- 1600 +400= Rs. 2000/-
Total= Rs.75,475/-

Following are my queries
1.What is the difference between 1 phase and 3 phase ?
2.Which one to go for either 1 phase or 3 phase?
3.In this forum, I have seen most of them mentioning about 1 phase.
4.What are the advantages of 1 phase over 3 phase?
5.Is 2.5 sq mm sufficient for 3 hp motor at 700 depth?

Thanks for your valuable feedback,

Regards,
Somesh

Hi,

I'm also looking for submersible installation but for 2hp single phase. I heard from electrician for 2hp and higher better to go for 4 sq mm.

Thanks Raju,

Yeah I'm going with 4 sqmm, and also I found out that its better to go for 3-phase instead of 1-phase as 1-phase motor will vibrate more and will bear the burnt of itseems.
