I would suggest people to buy sand on measured basis, that is cubic feet. I have been doing it from the last 3 months for my house construction and I always insist the sand supplier for measurements. Pure river sand from Karur/ Trichy is loaded on basis of number of units at the loading point (with an invoice-mentioning the number of units and time). If you buy it this way, you can also be sure that you get a direct load and not shifted sand.

Normally people mix different types of sand ,you build a house only once in a life time ,so be double sure that the sand is pure river sand because of the structural strength,I see alot of people mixing different loads of filter, and riversand ,which costs low and the end user will not know ,so once again be double sure, and dont think you are wise and have saved 1 or 2 or 5 K ,because the sterngth of the structure is very important ,we have been dealing with sand to people who distribute them ,so we supply sand in 10wheelers (approx 5 units or approx 600cft) daily in large quantities it is really very difficult for a common man to understand ,hope common sense pervails and not just price always compare apple to apple
