BBMP new property tax structure assessment starts today 2016-17. Let me know by what percent it has gone up ?

It all depends on which of the 6 zones you fall under. Zone A is the highest.

Find out under which zone your house/plot comes under ,

1.Yelahanka Zone
2.Dasarahalli Zone
3.Govindarajanagar Zone
4.Padmanabhanagar Zone
5.Jayanagar Zone
6.Bommanahalli Zone
7.Mahadevapura Zone
8.Krishnarajapura Zone
9.Malleshwara Zone
10.Rajajinagar Zone

Then goto Zonal classification in BBMP http://bbmp.gov.in/zonal-classification-residential and find out under which zonel classification (ABCDEF) your house/plot falls.

Later pay tax in http://bbmptax.karnataka.gov.in/

Hi,

Suppose the house has 2 units built up, say Ground and First Floor. Ground floor built in 1980 and first floor built in 1995. How will the "Year of Construction" be filled in the BBMP Tax website?

I have a question related to this. Our area is still not handed over to BBMP. We pay property tax still to BDA ( challan sent from Banashakari BDA office ). Will there be an increase with BDA prop tax as well? Or its only BBMP.

Sorry friends I don't have an answer to all your questions.

I tried on the internet after confirming the zone changes from the BBMP office and found that the system didn't accept. I contacted BBMP later and found later that the software hasn't been updated till now to accept tax for vacant sites. It now looks like we have to visit local BBMP offices to know the zones because we have to update zones for the last several years before we proceed.

One thing is for sure "after entering the zones tax will always increase and not decrease this year".

Now software updated, we can pay tax for vacant site also. In the 2nd part, we have to choose option 13 under column 7, and in the Self Occupied Area, actual area of the site in SqFt should be mentioned.

My site is in Zone F,tax is 100 Rs more than last year.

Per 2008-2009 classification, my site was in "E" zone and now in "C" zone; so with cap zone applied I paid tax for "D" zone, which turned out to be 20% increase + cess

I tried paying last week and BBMP website was not at all user friend. Then I visited the relevant BBMP office and got the challan and paid in Canara Bank. My site is moved from F and E. And, the last year tax was 336/- (after 5% rebate) and this year, its become 707/- (after 5% rebate).

They say 30% increase in Property Tax but in my case, it is increased by 110%.. I imagine, we are paying for all the karnataka Government Run "xxxxxxxxxxxx BHAGYA's"

i feel E and F zone it is moderate increase of 20% to 30% but other zone it is more than 60% to 100% increase ....

but dark part is where all this money goes only god knows...read recent news bot sure it is just a allegation or truth...
