BDA Khata Transfer

Post by paarun »

Hello All,

I need to get Khata transfered for the plot I purchased recently in Anjanapura. I was told that BDA requires the original of the old Khata from previous owner for the transfer. All my originals lie with my bank as I have taken loan. Does BDA really require original Khata for transfer? If yes, will my bank give the original for this purpose alone so that I can submit it later? Thanks.

Based on my past experience thats correct Paarun, BDA requires original Old Khatha from your previous owner , if you submit it then only they will do Khatha transfer and they will give you new Khatha once the Khatha transfer is done......i dnt know abt the bank if they would give it or not but you can request and try .

Cheers

Go to BDA office for your jurisdiction and get the white form with list of documents needed.
You apply for old owner Original Khatha transfer with written application to the bank. Mention that you need original as required by BDA and once transfer is done in your name, you will submit the originals to the bank in 45 days. They will give you for this purpose.
Next, get the latest EC till date in your name. EC will take 1-2 days. After filling the Application Form with your plot details, layout and your name, you need to get it attested from Gazetted Officer Only. In addition, you need to submit NoC from Bank, Sale Deed of your transaction, Old Sale Deed of Seller.
Your Photo and signature need Gazetted attestation.
Submit these docs to the BDA office with 500rs fees to BDA Revenue Officer (South). It will take around 3-4 weeks for transfer. Go and meet the RO.
If you need within a week then you need to find options.

I checked with my bank and they say that they will not provide the original, but an attested copy for the purpose. Does BDA accept attested Khata copy for transfer purpose? Has anyone transferred Khata recently? Any help would be great.

Guys,
I have been told to provide a letter requesting for khata transfer, can anyone give me the sample of that letter please. I am not sure what to be written in that letter.
Appreciate any help on this.

You can get both khata transfer application and request letter(printed format, you just need to fill in your name and other details) at the BDA office (there is no application fee for this. If they insist, its a bribe). Also, most of the agents have those with them, you can try getting from them.

thanks for your reply, I did check with BDA revenue office for printed format. They told me to write a request letter in white paper and there is no printed format.
Any idea, what to be written in that
