Re: Material contractor cheating in Built-up area!!

Tell him that he has made a mistake in the measurements and ask him to measure it in your presence and challenge every measurement if it is not correct. And finally both of you will agree if the measurements are done together. You are the one making the payment, so be firm. He cannot over charge and...

Re: Starting house construction finally

If you are worried about Cavery water being shared by BDA, Even the ground water will be shared by your neighbors as they all tap into the same aquifer. So it is better to go with a bigger tank (sump) say one with 10,000 liters that can hold enough water for you even if BDA supplies water once a wee...

Re: Putting Pump in Borewell - Help

You also need to factor in the little stones and the boulders at 200 feet and boulders at 350 feet. These would cause headaches later when lifting the motor for repair. If there is only one water source at less than 200 feet and you are sure there are no other sources after 200 feet. In my opinion, ...

Re: Buying BDA Sites

How do you know the amount was paid only in 2015. It is possible, that the full amount was paid to BDA within the stipulated time and the title deed (registration) was done in 2015. Many people who are short of funds would resort to delaying registration of site.

Re: Help required regarding Borewell issue

I had a similar issue in our farm. Not wanting to give up on a good borewell, I went with the pounding first, then got the borewell redrilled. The redrilling helped and I could have the motor installed and it worked fine till the motor went bust. The voltage at our farm varies a lot resulting in fre...

Sadarahalli granite comes in 2 types. Rough finish (used in bathrooms) and smooth finish. If it is smooth, then it gets slippery when wet.

Re: Site That I in a private layout I suspect used to be a P

Ask the developer to give you a copy of the approved layout plan. The approved layout plan would clarify if the site in question is indeed a park or not. If there is no approved layout plan with the developer, then it can be that the layout was a revenue layout with no sanction what so ever. If your...

Re: Drainage water getting into bathroom during heavy rain.

When I constructed my house, I looked for non-return-valves such as these http://www.drainstore.com/underground-non-return-valves-c512.html. But they are not available in India. So I went with a PVC gate Value to manually stop the water from coming in. So far I have not had to use it. PVC gate vale ...

Re: URGENT: Issues with Clay blocks

I used Porotherm and did not encounter this issue. I was concerned with consistency of the blocks manufactured by local manufacturers, hence went with Porotherm even though they were slightly more expensive. If you are really worried about it, you can consider plastering the external wall. This shou...
