They call it as bombay mat, where they do not crank the rods. they pass the rods completely till end to end. They say some savings on steel can be done using this method.

Re: Bought Robo sand from Robo silicon
you can use m-sand or robo sand as it is. for concrete i maintained 1:2:3 ratio. for block work 1:5. Also there is no restriction of using 53 grade cement while using Robo/m-sand. I have used Mycem cement slag based for all my work. Except for pillars which i used Birla super. In 1 floor i have used ...

Re: Bought Robo sand from Robo silicon
i had ordered samples of Bharti plastering cement, it is very costly 150 Rs for 50 kg bag and coverage is less. I would not recommend that. better to go for good river sand for plastering.

the fine particle percentage is 30% in Robo sand and 25% in oriental m-sand. I have not seen any cracks for my mould or pillar.

Re: Bought Robo sand from Robo silicon
hi,
i have used Robo sand throughout for 4000 sqft 3 floor construction right from footing/plinth/pillar/mould/block work. For plastering alone i am using river sand. The strength is excellent. right from 2nd day, you will not see any water dropping from the mould after ponding.

Re: Total Cost for G +Duplex construction
What i found is that, if you give full contract, the quotes will be such that 75% more what you preferred can be achieved. for eg 1 sqt if he quotes 2000 that means your expectation he can achieve that for 1.75 sqft. The recent example i have is i am planning to build 2200 sqft of commercial space ...

Re: help with planning my construction
I do not buy the theory that the construction cost has gone north significantly. Steel/sand/cement blocks/granatite/sadarahalli/tiles is almost at the same price 2 - 2.5 years back. Also now you can judiciously use robo/msand sand to reduce cost.
