Re: RTGS number in registration documents
DD is the better option. Some banks will reduce the DD charges based on the amount and the average monthly balance that you keep with them. Like you mentioned, transferring a large amount before the registration is risky, so my suggestion is to take a DD and quote the DD number in the registration d...

Re: Water seepage through the walls
The dampness will cause fungal growth, leading to a foul smell indoors. This kind of fungal growth is a health hazard if left to continue. I would talk to a mason or painter to have waterproofing solution/paint applied onto the exterior walls as the first step. There have been similar instances repo...

Re: tiles for bathroom flooring and wall
We had to redo the wet area in our bathroom about a year ago and for the bathroom floor tiles, I ended up choosing a type that had lot of grooves in it. My only concern was that the tiles should not be slippery when there is water/oil spilled on it. Looks for floor tiles was not a factor that I was ...

Re: Sunken slab dampness in slab underneath
We had a similar issue in our home. Initially we suspected the grouting and got it re-done, but eventually we had to get the bathroom tiles removed and re-do the entire wet area as the waterproofing and the slope underneath the tiles was not good. Could you please elaborate on why the LIC policy was asked for, in the list of documents ?
Are they looking for any life insurance policy that you might be having (so even non LIC should be ok) ?

Re: Need help to get started with construction
First thing would be to talk to the person constructing before and insist that they leave setbacks.
If they are adamant, then one can submit a complaint letter to the concerned BBMP office and follow up the engineer and corporator.
Last resort would be to take the legal route.

Re: Need help to get started with construction
One person in our layout constructed his house till the site boundary. His site is at a slightly lower level compared to the neighbouring site. The adjacent home owner has left setback and has drawn his sewerage pipes in the setback area. If there is a blockage in the sewerage pipes, then the dirty ...
