Arkavathi: BDA begins allotment of sites
DH News Service Bangalore:
The Bangalore Development Authority has kept its promise, at last. It kicked off the much-awaited site allotment process in the Arkavathi Layout on Saturday. About 2,000 of the 20,000 applicants figure in the first phase of allotments.

The BDA despatched around 250 allotment letters on Saturday through speed post. “The remaining 1,750 will be sent on Monday,” said a BDA official. The allotment details will be made available to the public on the BDA website -- www.bdabangalore.org -- and at the e-Pragati kiosks at the BDA head office and HBR complex from January 3.

Allotment list

The allotment list will be also posted on the notice board of the PRO office and at the BDA’s divisional offices at Vijayanagar complex, Banashankari complex, Koramangala complex and R T Nagar complex from Tuesday.

The allotments are based on the seniority of the short-listed applicants. The beneficiaries are those whose names figure in the provisional list announced before the judgment of a single judge of the High Court on April 15, 2005.

Re-deposit

In the letter, the BDA has asked the allottees to re-deposit the site amount. Earlier, the Authority, which had collected the deposit from the short-listed applicants, had returned the money following the High Court judgment, which quashed the layout formation.

However, while returning the deposit, the BDA had told the selected applicants that they would have to return the money in the event of resumption of the layout formation. The Arkavathi project spread over 2,750 acres covers 16 villages in Bangalore East and North taluks. The BDA had issued preliminary notification on February 3, 2003, and had promised to allot the sites by January 15, 2005.

But the project ran into rough weather. On November 25, 2005, the BDA won the legal battle, with the High Court ruling in favour of the project. The Authority began work at the layout on November 30.

Arkavathy: BDA begins process of site allotment

Special Correspondent

2,000 persons will get allotment letters in the first phase

Bangalore: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has started the process of the much-awaited allotment of sites in Arkavathy Layout.

Following the judgement given on November 25 by the Karnataka High Court, the process had been taken up in a phased manner, the BDA said.

In the first phase, 2,000 eligible applicants among the 20,000 short-listed, would receive their allotment letters.

Intimation letters began to be despatched by Speed Post from Saturday.

The allotment details would be made available on the BDA website www.bdabangalore.org and e-Pragati kiosks at the BDA Head Office at HBR Complex from January 3. The allotment list would also be posted on the notice board at the PRO's Office on T. Chowdiah Road, Kumara Park West, and at divisional offices at the Vijayanagar Complex, BSK Complex, Koramangala Complex and R.T. Nagar Complex. The public would get information at these centres from Tuesday onwards. The BDA recovered property worth Rs. 3 crores after a demolition drive on Saturday.

A total of six BDA plots, including two corner sites in Banashankari 1st Stage, two corner sites in Banashankari 3rd Stage-Kathriguppe and two sites in Banashankari 2nd Stage-Dhobighat were recovered after demolishing the unauthorised constructions on them, the BDA said. The BDA Task Force conducted the operation with the assistance of the Hanumanthnagar and Banashankari police.

Atlast  ( a cooked up ) list has been presented , will have to wait for the rest of it.

If they are making 2000 allotments for a month, So it takes about another 12  months to complete   (10 + 2 months of buffer for some Slacking ).

Didn't they not mention earlier that they would finalise within 6 months ??

While this is in progress, they would call for the sites under Mega project , then we don't know where this all would end up....
